 How can you help?

I will help you by listening, really listening. My sessions are informative, I will help you understand why you may be feeling the way you are.  I will teach you ways to overcome those feelings using the latest psychotherapeutic tools and techniques. I have different techniques that help overcome anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, stress and trauma.

How do I book a session?

Email me at hello@giovannapumacounselling.co.uk or text me at 07498 717297. You can call me, but I may be in a session and unable to pick up. I usually respond to an email, text or call the same day. Once I receive your email or WhatsApp, I will arrange a 10-20 minute free telephone call. In the call, I can answer any questions you may have, find out more about the help you need and book our first session.

What can I expect from our first session?

Everyone is different, and your emotional needs guide me. I listen to what is happening in your life and how you would like that to change. By asking sensitive questions, I will help you clarify why you may feel like you do. Some people are nervous about starting therapy. There is nothing to worry about - my approach is really calming, gentle, and positive.  My aim is to help you feel better from the very first session.

How long are the sessions?

The sessions are about 60 minutes. 

 Do you work with couples?

I help couples repair and strengthen their relationships, whether they’re dealing with infidelity, emotional distance, or other major challenges. Many come to me after other counselling approaches haven’t worked

How much are your sessions, and what’s the easiest way to pay?

I charge £70 per hour for an individual and £100 for a couple. Payment can be made by card or bank transfer after your appointment. If you need to change or cancel your session, please provide as much notice as possible. Sessions can be cancelled up to 24 hours in advance without charge.

How long do I need to see you?

I strive to help people in as few sessions as possible.

How do you work, and where can I park?

I offer therapy online and in person from my New Barnet room in North London. It’s just a seven-minute walk from New Barnet Overground, 20 minutes from Cockfosters Underground, and five minutes from several bus routes. Free parking is available outside.

What times do you work?

I work Monday to Friday from 8 am to 6 pm (my last therapy session is at 5 pm)

Are you registered with any medical insurance companies?

I’m registered with Aviva and Vitality health insurance.

What is Human Givens Psychotherapy?

Human Givens is a practical, holistic, and scientific therapeutic approach that gives us a clear framework for understanding ourselves and what we need to thrive.  It draws on the latest insights from neuroscience and psychological research and combines this knowledge with proven therapeutic techniques from a wide range of approaches to provide highly effective interventions.

Is there anything else I should know?

I have a therapy cat named Mimosa who may occasionally wander into the therapy room and sit quietly by your feet. She’s very gentle and will never jump up or try to sit on your lap. Mimosa only comes in if she senses you're an animal lover. If you're allergic to cats or simply prefer not to have one around, just let me know — I’ll keep the therapy room door closed.
